My son and I had our first "bear experience" of the season, last weekend. We walked up on one digging for grubs on Rock Creek trail in Ocoee, near Pressly Cove. I would say a 300 lb'r or so. He went one way and we went another. LOL!

Anyone use hammocks?

I bought a hennesy hammock last summer and would'nt go in warmer months without it. Anyone else like hammocks? I have found it is somewhat warmer in winter if you use a sleep pad in it. A bit awkward though. My lower back does'nt like the ground that much, even with a 1.5 inch thermarest. But summer is coming and you bet I'll have my hammock packed!

To find Porters Creek is easy. Just drive up 321 to Big Greenbrier and take the right fork at the bridge to it's end. Then hike up this trail which is Porters Creek trail. At the barn and house take the trail on up the creek to find these flowers in bloom in the very near future. About a 2 mile walk from the car. Mike

Thank you for your kind comments re: my pics! I LOVE photography, esp. outdoor photography....got it from my Dad and Granddad. The photos just don't turn out as well on this site as they should. I wish I could do lots better, but it'll take continued practice. Thanks again!
