This quest might be one that Dana has tried or would enjoy bushwhacking. It is challenging. Last spring, four of us 50+ year old timers tried to reach Mill Creek Falls/Cascade and Arch. We had read in the Metro Pulse about how to find the falls, but…
Wow, these cute guys get around everywhere. just this past week I took an almost identical picture of this kind of 'shroom on the Spruce Mountain Trail just off the Balsam Mountain Road. Striking, aren't they? Nice photo.

How interesting that just a short while ago my "bestest" hiking buddy and I hiked two different trails today and commented on how comfortable our boots are. And then I check out GoSmokies and you guys are discussing hiking boots. No one mentioned Ne…
Mike, are you saying that the fireflies at Porter's Creek have the same synchronized lighting patterns of those at Elkmont? I thought that there were only 2 known places on earth where the light show is synchronized.
The wildflowers, the scenic beauty, the history [My family hails from Big Greenbrier]
About Me:
I love God's amazing creation. I enjoy hiking with my "bestest" hiking buddy, my husband of nearly 40 years, and taking photos of wildflowers. I stay busy teaching school, teaching Sunday School, and spending time with my three grown children, their spouses, and my 6 grandchildren. I am a blessed lady!
Yes, I remember you! When I saw your name, "Linda"....I kind of felt it was the lady we met in White Oak sink...I never found the Lily leaved tway blade either...we also visited Hooper Bald and it was not as we had expected, but I found some new flowers to photograph...This is a great site and everyone is so helpful. I'm sure you will enjoy it!
