Wow, these cute guys get around everywhere. just this past week I took an almost identical picture of this kind of 'shroom on the Spruce Mountain Trail just off the Balsam Mountain Road. Striking, aren't they? Nice photo.
Lovely photo of such a cute flower. I like the way the Day Flower and the Monkey Flower have adorable little faces.
I think this is calledWhite Avens. The really rare avens found in remote, high places is the Spreading Avens or appalachian Avens. Nice photo of a lovely blossom.

Mike, are you saying that the fireflies at Porter's Creek have the same synchronized lighting patterns of those at Elkmont? I thought that there were only 2 known places on earth where the light show is synchronized.

- Yes, I remember you! When I saw your name, "Linda"....I kind of felt it was the lady we met in White Oak sink...I never found the Lily leaved tway blade either...we also visited Hooper Bald and it was not as we had expected, but I found some new flowers to photograph...This is a great site and everyone is so helpful. I'm sure you will enjoy it!
